Recognizing Roots

Neighborhoods are the building blocks that make Philly wonderful. In 2026, the City will be given a chance to celebrate the parks, shops, museums, and streets that Philadelphians call home in a way like never before. 

As the City welcomes visitors looking to engage in the 250th celebrations, it is crucial to assist in introducing Philadelphia's complex identity on the national (and international) stage. Recognizing corridors along areas of particular historical, social, and cultural significance may be upheld, acting as "gateways" to the city for neighboring areas and residents.
